Zambia is land of limitless opportunities-Nawakwi

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) president Edith Nawakwi says Zambia has limitless opportunities but regretted that there is so much hate in the country.

In a statement to newsdayzambia.com, Nawakwi said the country had abundant minerals, which could be exploited by military wings of government  to help raise money for the provision of social services.

“I always wonder if I had a chance, I would have given a concession of manganese mine and emerald mine to Zambia Army and Zambia Prisons Service and equip them with all the requirements and the skills they need to work in the mining industry,” Nawakwi said .

She said it was unfortunate that all the nice spots, including rare earth deposits had been given to foreigners.

“We are just enemies of ourselves. Even if God comes back he will weep us all with a Mukula tree into Satan’s cage and we shall all perish. We have our ZNS with all the equipment being greased weekly with tax payer’s money and somehow some of the miners hire our ZNS equipment,” she said.

Nawakwi urged Zambian to take note that a carat of emerald was US$6,000 while a ton of copper was US$6,000.

She said the mining engineers remained unemployed while the ZNS had excavation equipment.
