7 children with malnutrition admitted at Solwezi hospital every week

SOLWEZI Lions Club has donated assorted food items worth K5,000 to Lunga Pediatric ward at Solwezi General Hospital.
And malnutrition cases at Solwezi hospital were high with about seven children with the condition are admitted on a weekly basis, acting hospital medical Superintendent, Namwaka Mukunyandela has disclosed.
District 413 Governor, George Banda who handed over the items to management at the hospital said the club made the donation to help children in the ward who are malnourished.
Banda said the club had been making donations to the health facility on a regular basis using funds it raised from various fundraising ventures.
He said the club is passionate about doing charitable services for people in the province and other parts of the country in order to uplift the lives of the underprivalleged.
Banda pledged the club’s support towards helping management to run the health facility.
Meanwhile, acting Solwezi General Hospital Medical Superintendent, Namwaka Mukunyandela commended the Lions club for its continuous support to the hospital.
Mukunyandela said malnutrition cases at the hospital were high adding that, about seven children with the condition are admitted at the hospital on a weekly basis.
Mukunyandela called on various stakeholders to emulate Lions club by supporting the hospital in any way possible.
