A 29-year old pedestrian of Lusaka’s Chaisa compound yesterday sustained injuries while he bled from his nose when he was hit by a police traffic officer identified as Bonus Mulela.

Police public relation Officer Esther Katongo said the accident occurred along the Great East Road at Bwinjimfumu traffic lights where Mulela of Barastone Park driving a police vehicle registration number ZP 137C hit the pedestrian before the vehicle slipped into a drainage.

“The police officer was then dragged by his fellow officer to Northmead police station where he was later taken to Manda Hill police,” said Katongo.
Katongo said the pedestrian had not been identified.
