Be impartial, Mangango resident asks police

By Staff Reporter

A Mangango resident has asked police in the area to be impartial when dealing with political violence.

In an interview, Chinoya Chingumbe said it was never ideal for police to be biased towards the ruling party at any election.

‘’This is just a by-election and it will be disappointing to record violence. There is need for political parties to employ nonviolent campaign strategies,’’ said Chingumbe.

The Mangango by-election has attracted four political parties namely the United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia, United Party for National Development, National Congress Party, and Patriotic Front.

Mangango has seven wards with 33 polling stations and over 15, 000 registered voters.
