Zulu threatens to resign as MP

Luangeni member of parliament Charles Zulu has told voters in his constituency that he is ready to resign if people continue frustrating his efforts to develop the area.

Zulu challenged people in his constituency to fully participate in developmental activities.

Speaking when he addressed a meeting at Katawa Primary School today, Zulu said the community needed to participate in developmental activities taking place in the area.

He said it was disheartening that over 30 pockets of cement meant for the construction of a library at the school  is about to go to waste because the community has failed to mobilize their quota of the required materials.

Zulu said it was sad that construction works had stalled for a long time  because residents are reluctant to make their contributions.

“Am very disappointed with the community of this area. Some pockets of cement may go to waste in few weeks time if we don’t use it. Let’s all participate if we are to see meaningful development in this area” he said.

Zulu added that once completed, the library will help improve literacy levels in the area.

The visibly upset lawmaker said he was ready to step down as a member of parliament for the area if people will continue frustrating his efforts to develop the area.

Zulu said he had visited the area several times and was assured by village headmen that they were going to mobilize upfront materials but to his surprise nothing had been done.

Zulu informed the residents that he would duscuus the matter with Senior Chief Nzamane so that he could intervene as a traditional leader.
