By Staff Reporter
Chelstone Police yesterday detained Chileshe Chipampe the PF youth Chairman for Chakunkula ward for threatening violence with a firearm on his wife.
Chipampe in a company of another woman Nancy ‘Namu’ Musokotwane who is the daughter to PF Chairlady for the same ward, ‘raided’ his own home, pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot his wife for unspecified reasons but suspected to concern domestic matters.
In the same altercation, Chipampe’s companion, Nancy damaged property estimated to be worthy thousands of kwacha, in an apparent attempt to drive Chipampe’s wife out of the house. Police slapped her with two charges of criminal trespass and malicious damage to property. She is also detained at Chelstone police station
There’s currently a proliferation of firearms among political cadres. It’s not yet known if Chileshe Chipampe’s pistol which has since been confiscated by police has valid papers.
A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said the two suspects are expected to appear in court within the course of the week after completion of investigation.
