Four Zimbabweans jailed for fishing on the Zambian side

Siavonga magistrate court on Friday sentenced four Zimbabwean fishermen to one year imprisonment each with hard labour.
The four arrested on November 27, 2018 failed to observe the water boundary on Lake Kariba which is shared between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
And Siavonga district commissioner Lovemore Kanyama the four were Lovemore Cikarate, Biggie Maponga, Jealous Kodzi and Jonas Samanyanga and that the two fishing rigs they were found with have been forfeited to the state.
Kanyama has since urged fishermen from Zambia to seriously observe the water boundary on Lake Kariba when conducting their fishing activities to avoid arrests.
