Opposition Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), president Sean Tembo’s defamation case failed to take off this morning because the docket has not yet reached the Court.

Tembo was expected to appear before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court this morning to answer to a charge of defamation of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

Particulars of the offense are that Tembo demanded that a Medical Board be constituted in accordance with article 107 of the Constitution where President Lungu should be subjected to a mental examination to determine his fitness to continue holding the office of Republican President.

The Court has extended Tambo’s bond to next week, Tuesday when he is required to appear again.
