ZIMBABWE opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader President Morgan Tsvangirai has with immediate effect affirmed Vice-president Nelson Chamisa as acting president of the party.

According to a statement released yesterday by MDC presidential spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka, the appointment of Chamisa is in line with the party constitution until.

“This is in light of the president’s absence and that of the two other vice presidents who are both in South Africa. VP Chamisa also continues in his assigned duties as the acting chairperson of the MDC Alliance,” stated Tamborinyoka.
