UPPZ condemn creation of new districts

UNITED Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) president Charles Chanda has condemned the creation of new districts, which he claims is a waste of public resources.

Chanda said that resources being used to create districts should be used to improve the living standards of Zambians.

Speaking to journalists in Chipata this morning, Chanda said only a few people who got jobs in the public service are benefiting from new districts.

“When UPPZ form government in 2021, we will reverse the creation of districts in the country,” said Chanda.

About 35 new districts have been formed in the last six years with a view of enhancing development.

Meanwhile, Chanda has charged that every Zambian should have the opportunity to own land because the country had enough land.

“Zambia’s current laws on land ownership are weak because a foreigner, who has not even lived in Zambia can own land using a company registered online through PACRA,” he said.
