Minister of General Education, David Mabumba, says the consultative process on the education reforms will come up with strategies that will improve learner performance, infrastructure, teacher retention and access to education in the country.

ZANIS reports that Mabumba notes that the education sector faces a number of challenges that have affected learner performance.

He said the education reforms consultative process being undertaken by the Ministry will address all issues in order for the country to have an educated citizenry.

“inadequate secondary schools, poor staffing levels and inadequate teaching and learning materials have affected the performance of pupils among schools in the country,” said Mabumba

“Government could adopt cheaper but quality school infrastructure models to help government improve access to education to correspond with the growing enrollment levels,” he said
