Don’t shun dialogue, FODEP urges UPND

Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says there is still room for the opposition UPND to take part in national dialogue.
Livingstone FODEP chairman Nyambe Mutete said shunning the process would not yield anything.
“I’m welcoming the appointment of a committee of four local eminent persons to chair the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) led national political dialogue, am confident that the four member committee will reconcile political leaders in the country,” said Mutete.
Last week the United Party for National Development (UPND) said it had nothing to do with the national dialogue being spearheaded by the Zambia Centre for Inter-party Dialogue.
Party secretary general Stephen Katuka said UPND was only committed to a genuine dialogue that was being facilitated by the three Church mother bodies.
