RULING Patriotic Front (PF) in Luangeni Constituency has suspended area Member of Parliament, Charles Zulu from the party for gross misconduct.

According to a letter dated January 19, 2019 addressed to Zulu and obtained by, Luangeni PF chairperson, Ezra Dube

explained that Zulu was on the 9th of January summoned to appear before the constituency committee to answer to some charges but did not show up.

Dube said the constituency committee together with five PF ward committees in Luangeni unanimously resolved to suspend Zulu for gross misconduct and disrespecting President Edgar Lungu and party members in the area.

“The constituency will also be recommending to the highest organ of the party for the expulsion of Mr. Zulu from the party,” said Dube

And when contacted for a comment, Zulu said he had not received the letter of suspension from the party.

He however, said as far as he was concerned, he had not done anything to warrant his suspension from the party.

“I joined the Patriotic Front party even before it came into power and there is no logic for me to start fighting the ruling party now that it is in power. If I receive the letter of suspension, I will respond accordingly,” said Zulu

He added that this is not time to be talking about politics, but to instead concentrate on finding solutions to problems that people in his constituency were facing.

Meanwhile, provincial PF chairperson, Andrew Lubusha said he was not aware of the developments in Luangeni.
