PF adopts Chibuye for Roan, Chalwe for Bahati

The Ruling Patriotic Front has adopted Joel Chibuye for Roan and Charles Chalwe for Bahati constituencies by-elections due for next month.
The Central Committee meeting chaired by the party Secretary General Davies Mwila, also appointed health minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya as campaign manager with Emerine Kabanshi as his deputy. Mines minister Richard Musukwa was appointed campaign manager for the Roan seat and will be assisted by Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo and Kampamba Chewe.
Brig. General Simakoloyi Moono was picked for Kafue Council chairpersonship and Given Lubinda will lead the team. Lubinda will partner with Maria Langa and Japhen Mwakalombe.
“Let me emphasize that all those who have not been adopted are hereby directed to support the adopted candidates and remain loyal to the party,” Mwila said.
He said the party did not expect to have any of its members standing as independent candidates in the wards and constituencies in the coming elections as they have adequate representatives.
Mwila said President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the entire Central Committee thanked all the members who applied and encouraged them to remain focused and Committed to the Party.
“Let me also reaffirm the party’s position that no one will be ferried from other parts of the country to go and campaign in areas where by-elections will be held, the respective party structures and members in these areas will lead the campaigns on the ground until the day of voting,” Mwila said. “Ours is to carry out issue-based campaigns, promoting the rich promises captured in our Party manifesto”.
