Lewanika Hospital introduces user fees

Lewanika General Hospital in Mongu district, Western Province will with effect from 10th April 2019 introduce user fees for the low cost services.

The provincial biggest referal hospital says in a public notice dated March 26, 2019 stated that this was in an effort to further improve service delivery to its clients and the general public.

“A prescribed fee shall be charged for some of the services provided by the hospital,” read the notice in part.

The notice further directs that the payments be made to the office of the revenue.

However, the new measure exempts emergency, under five children and senior citizens.
