TCZ investigate ‘defiler’ teacher in Chadiza

THE Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) is investigating a defilement case against a teacher of Chadiza.

Spokesperson Ngoza Malonga said the council would revoke the practicing certificate for a 28-year-old teacher, Lynne Phiri who is alleged to have defiled a 13-year-old grade 7 pupil.

“Mr. Phiri’s conduct has dragged the name of the teaching profession into disrepute,” Malonga said, stressing that the council could not accept such behavior.

She has since called on teachers to familiarize themselves with the council’s code of ethics.

Last week, Police in Chadiza arrested Phiri for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old pupil in a toilet.
