Senior Chief Nkula of the Bemba speaking people of Chinsali has asked newly appointed Muchinga Province permanent secretary Joyce Nsamba to ensure that government completes all the projects it has embarked on in the province.
Speaking at his palace yesterday when Nsamba paid a courtesy call on him, Chief Nkula said government departments should be fully operational for effective delivery of services.
The traditional leader also appealed to the Zambia Army to quickly start the construction of a barrack on the land it had been given.
“Am happy that the establishment of a barrack comes alongside other facilities such as schools and hospitals that will give more jobs to the people in the area,” he said.
He also cautioned politicians to be civil in their language and engage in politics that promote peace and not anarchy.
“I will not entertain politics of hate and insults in my chiefdom and am warning headpersons in the villages that they risked being removed if they allowed politics of insults and hate in their respective villages,” he warned.
Meanwhile, the traditional leader commended Nsamba for her appointment as Muchinga Permanent Secretary, saying it was representative of the commitment towards the promotion of gender in government.
“The appointment of more women in key positions of the government administration is an indication that government is committed towards gender equality across all sectors and sections of the government, I will be using Ms. Nsamba as a role model in sensitizing both girls and their parents including guardians on the benefits of educating a girl child,” said Chief Nkula
And Nsamba said she decided to get blessings from Senior Chief Nkula before settling down to do work.
Nsamba also commended Chief Nkula for his commitment in uplifting the lives of the vulnerable people, especially women and the youth in his chiefdom.
