GBV fast track court launched in Mongu
The Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) in Western Province says the setting up of a GBV fast tract court will reduce related cases in the region.
YWCA regional coordinator Sandra Maputa said the organisation had many challenges such as complaints from clients who had been failing to find justice.
‘The fast tract court will enable victims of GBV get justice on time,’’ said Maputa.
Meanwhile, Mwenda Lishebo, a Mongu resident has urged men to change their negative culture of abusing women.
He challenged men to protect the rights of women and promote gender equality.
‘’The fast tract court will mitigate challenges and injustices experienced by victims of GBV’, said Lishebo.
The gender-based violence fast track and user-friendly court in Mongu was launched by deputy chief justice Marvin Mwanamwambwa and UN resident coordinator Janet Rogan.
