OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant Chishimba Kambwili has urged President Edgar Lungu to step down as Head of State for failing to provide leadership to the country.

In a statement, Kambwili said President Lungu had failed to run the country and was continually dwindling the state reserves.

“The state is introducing new taxes because it has no source of income,” said Kambwili while condeming the introduction of the new internet tariffs.

Kambwili also slammed government for buying motor vehicles for cabinet ministers and other senior government officials while the state coffers were distressed and the majority of the wallowing in poverty.

“The procurement of the motor vehicles in question is wrapped under corruption, I wonder why government is buying vehicles amidst austerity measures announced by the finance minister to put back the economy on truck,” he said
