HH calls for unity among opposition to oust PF

OPPOSITION United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has called for unity among opposition parties if they have to oust the ruling Patriotic Front in the 2021 general elections.
Speaking during the opposition party’s 20th anniversary celebrations on Friday evening, Hichilema said UPND would create an environment that was conducive for all parties to operate and provide checks and balances.
Hichilema was accompanied by his wife, Mutinta, his vice Geoffrey Mwamba, and wife of the late UPND founding president Anderson Mazoka, Mutinta among other party officials.
Others who attended the cerebrations are People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti, PeP president Sean Tembo, and NAREP president Elias Chipimo.
Hichilema said despite the many challenges, the party grown in all parts of the country.
And Western Province chairman Musangu Njamba said the party had received overwhelming support from Zambians.
“UPND is the largest opposition political party that is offering checks and balances,” Musangu said.
He lamented the high levels of negligence by the PF government.
“Majority Zambians are suffering because there is no equity,” he said.
Musangu expressed confidence that UPND would create a credible government in 2021.
