The Chipata Magistrates’ court has set May 24 as a day for ruling in a matter where UPND deputy national chairperson Michael Chuzu is charged with seditious practices.
Magistrate Philip Mpundu adjourned the matter after the prosecution closed its case on Friday.
The Prosecution called four witnesses that included three Chipata TV reporters and the arresting officer.
After the prosecution closed its case, defence lawyer Zevyanji Sinkala of Mleza Mwiimbu and Company informed the court that he would make written submissions before May 24.
Chuzu is alleged to have issued a statement on Chipata Television to the effect that his party did not recognise Edgar Lungu as a duly elected President.
