The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has given MultiChoice Zambia a go ahead to air the reality show, Hustle on Zambezi Magic after ordering its suspension about three weeks ago.
In a statement, MultiChoice Zambia Head of Corporate Affairs Mwiika Malindima said that the lifting of the suspension was with immediate effect.
Malindima said that the IBA board had confirmed that upcoming episodes contain no controversial elements that violate any Zambian law.
“MultiChoice Zambia has since engaged Zambezi Magic to resume the scheduling of the show on today, Thursday, 21 February,2019,” he said.
Malindima further expressed gratitude to the IBA for convening a multi-stakeholder forum to assess concerns about the Lusaka Hustle show.
And a media specialist Brenda Bukowa says that the show does not portray homosexuality.
Bukowa explained that the program treatment could easily be twisted to fit into Zambian moral compass for the benefit of Zambia and talent.
IBA Director General Josephine Mapoma then said the decision to suspend the show was taken in public interest, following public outcry that the show promoted a lifestyle contrary to the Zambian values and culture.
