Zampost workers give ultimatum for their benefits
By Staff Reporter
Unionised workers at Zampost have given government up to Thursday this week to settle the four months’ salary arrears failure to which they will down tools again.
The Workers who last month downed tools demanding their five-months salary arrears feel cheated as government only paid salaries for the month of August while subsequent months remain unpaid.
National Union for Communications Workers General Secretary Richard Mulenga said Zampost is owed K13.8 million by various government departments, which if paid could help dismantle the salary arrears.
Mulenga has also taken a swipe at management and the board for remaining mute over the workers’ plight.
