4 UPND cadres released on K10,000 cash bail each

FOUR of the 20 UPND supporters arrested for unlawful possession of offense weapons in Shiwang’andu district, Muchinga were on Monday released on cash  bail of K10,000 each.
The four pleaded guilty to the charge and subsequently released on bail.
Muchinga Province police commissioner Joel Njase  told newsdayZambia.com that 20 United Party for National Development were on July 11, 2019 arrested for  unlawful possession of offensive weapons and had so far appeared in chinsali magistrate court.
” I can confirm that 4 out of 20 UPND Cadres  have appeared in court and  granted bail for K10,000 each with working sureties whilst awaiting instructions from the director of public prosecution (DPP),” said Njase
” As for now 4 out of 20 have been released on bail after paying admission of guilty for conduct likely to cause breach of peace. These are Martin Mulenga, Mike Mulenga, Cheers Katambo and Chikota Steven”.
The matter was adjourned to to July 29 for mention and the other 16 still remain in police custudy.
