Kasenengwa Member of Parliament in Eastern Province Sensio Banda says 40 boreholes are expected to be drilled in his constituency this year using the 2018 constituency development funds (CDF) in order to address water challenges people are facing.
Banda told newsdayZambia.com this morning that he was aware of water challenges in the area and government through his office will use resources available such as (CDF) funds to address the issue.
“I have also lobbied from cooperating partners such as Caritas Zambia and they have promised me that they will drill 20 boreholes within Kasenengwa under Mawa project. I’m sure that with the coming of these boreholes will make a difference, especially to the people of Kang’ombe and Mchenga villages who have been sharing water from nearby streams with domestic animals,” Said Banda.
“I’m therefore, appealing to the people in Kasenengwa to remain calm and be patient as government is doing everything possible to take development even to remote areas of this country,” said Banda.
