ACC arrest North provincial fisheries coordinator, CSO officer

The Anti-Corruption Commission in Kasama has arrested the Provincial Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator and Central Statistics Office reginal statistician for corrupt practices involving K18,000.
In a statement, ACC Corporate Affairs Officer, Christopher Chibanku said Joseph Chiti, 42 of Kasama Village, fisheries department and Danny Muchimba, 36 of Mukulumpe township, of Central Statistics Office were jointly charged with one count of theft by servant contrary to section 272 as read with section 277 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
“Particulars of the offence being that Joseph Chiti and Danny Muchimba on dates unknown but between 1st September 2017 and 31st January 2018 at Kasama in the Kasama District of the Northern Province being public officers namely Provincial Fisheries and Livestock Coordinator and Regional Statistician, respectively, jointly and while acting together did steal K 18,000 the property of the Republic of Zambia which came into their possession by virtue of their employment,” said Chibanku.
Chibanku said the suspects have since been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
