A 33-YEAR-OLD woman of Luangwa identified as Maria Mahombe has sustained serious burns and is admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) following an accident that left two trucks in flames in Luangwa yesterday.

Mahombe was a passenger on a truck that collided head-on with an oncoming truck when the accident happened around 07:00 hours at Nchoncho area in Luangwa District.

The accident involved three trucks and a Juldan Marcopolo bus registration number ABP 8905 which was being driven by David Mazamba aged 46.

Katongo said the Juldan bus which was also moving behind the Hino Truck hit into the Hino.

She said one female passenger on a Hino truck was rushed to Mumpanshya medical centre and has been referred to UTH while the driver of the Hino truck escaped with minor burns.
