4% salary increment for civil servants a mockery- UPND

United Party for National Development (UPND) Kanyama ward 11 2021 aspiring candidate Beene Hachombwa has described the four percent salary increment for civil servants as a mockery.
Hachombwa told News Day Zambia in an interview that the increment was aimed at blinding people who don’t understand the terms and conditions of service.
Hachombwa lamented the high cost of living in the country.
“As UPND we want to understand the logic behind the increment, it is nothing,” he said. “It is sad that civil servants who are working hard to improve the lives of Zambians are subjected to poor conditions,” he said.
He stated that cabinet ministers and other constitutional office holders were getting huge sums of money while civil servants were getting meagre salaries.
