Central UPND calls for unity in opposition alliance

Central Province UPND chairman Albert Chifita has called for unity of purpose among members of the opposition alliance.
Chifita explained that with good working relation and unity of purpose, the opposition alliance could cause an upset during the 2021 general elections.
“The working relation that we witnessed in Luanshya where the UPND and the NDC members campaigned together, resulting in the National Democratic Congress emerging victorious in Roan Constituency is commendable. The fact that UPND and NDC worked together in the run-up to the Roan by-election in order to defeat the Patriotic Front, which the PF members have been claiming that is their stronghold is an indication that the ruling party is losing popularity in its political backyard,” noted Chifita.
“This is also a demonstration that with good working relation and continued unity of purpose, the opposition alliance can easily cause an upset and defeat the Patriotic Front in the 2021 general elections. I am, therefore, calling for unity of purpose among opposition alliance members.”
He expressed optimism that leaders of opposition alliance would remain focussed and ensure that they continue working together “in their quest to liberate Zambians.”
“I am very optimistic that leaders of the opposition alliance will remain focussed, determined and ensure that they continue working together in harmony in their quest to liberate Zambians. We should have a common agenda of removing a ruling party that has led to Zambian citizens leading miserable lives,” said Chifita.
