3 die in a minibus accident in Senanga

THREE people died in fatal road traffic accident in Senanga, Western Province on Sunday.

Deputy police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga in a statement said the driver of a Toyota Hiace minibus registration number AUB 761, Mate Mate, 23 of Mbuywana stage 4 Mongu lost control and overturned three times, killing one passenger on the spot.

Hamoonga said the passenger only identified as Abel died upon sustaining fatal head injuries while two other passengers – Liseli Alexia 22, and Munalula Matala died at Senenga hospital.

“The following passengers were seriously injured:Muhau Mable aged 28 years of Kashembe Mongu also of Village Namukuyu Chief Nalonge District Senanga sustained an amputated left arm and body injuries, Mwiya Nawa aged 17 years of Kashembe area Mongu also of Village Nalonga Chief Itelamu District Mongu sustained multiple cuts on the head and bruised abdomen,Simata Mubita aged 27 years of Kashembe area Mongu also of Village Kaengelelwa Chief Ishwambutu District Mongu sustained bruised shoulder and General body pains, Pumulo Ngonde aged 20 years of Katongo area Mongu also of Village Liyundela Chief Lwandamu District Mongu sustained a painful right shoulder, Monde Imasiku aged 28 years of Village Kaunda Chief Kakuya District Kalabo sustained deep cuts on the left leg and general body pains, a male Juvenile aged One year Ten months of Kashembe Mongu also of village Nalwenge Chief unknown District Mongu sustained bruised face and general body pains, Mufuka Ndala aged 19 years of Kashembe area Mongu also of Village Nalwenge Mongu sustained a painful right shoulder, Priscilla Mwanamwalye aged 32 years of Katongo Mongu also of Village Sisheke Chief Namutwi District Mongu sustained painful right shoulder and General body pains, Mundia Nawa aged 20 years of Kashembe area also of Village Nalongo Chief Itelamu District Mongu sustained bruised right arm and Pumulo Mwangala aged 43 years of Kashembe area Mongu also of village Lubuto Chief Namakaya District Kalabo sustained painful neck and multiple cuts on the left arm and painful left leg,” said Hamoonga

He said the Toyota Hiace was extensively damaged.

“All the injured and the driver are admitted at Senenga District Hospital,” he said

Hamoonga said the accident occurred on April 14, 2019 at about 09:00 hours at Situnga along Senanga – Mongu road.
