Nakonde women’s day organizers donate to special unit school

The International Women’s Day organizing committee in Nakonde district has donated food stuffs and groceries to Chilolwa special unit school in Nakonde district of Muchinga Province.

 

Zambia National Information Services reports that the donation of food stuffs worth K4,500 was made yesterday ahead of the International Women’s Day celebrations that falls tomorrow, Friday.

 

Speaking on behalf of the District Commissioner, Field Simwinga, administrative officer Alex Sinkala thanked the women for the good gesture to Chilolwa special unit school.

 

Simwinga said it was good to help people like the under privileged and disabled pupils like those at Chilolwa special unit school as there there was a blessing in doing so.

 

“Am urging other people to emulate what the women in Nakonde have done so that the district can be developed,” said Simwinga

 

And speaking during the same occasion, Nakonde International Women’s Day organizing committee chairperson Pauline Mwansa

promised to render more assistance to the school in future.

 

Receiving the donation, school head teacher Charles Nyirenda thanked all the well wishes for their generous contributions and the empathy shown to the special unit school.

 

“Am appealing to government and other well-wishers to assist with the construction of an ablution block and a kitchen for the pupils. The donated items have come at a right time,” he said, adding that the school was planning to close before the end of the calendar term because they had run out of food and groceries.
