FORMER National Democratic Congress (NDC) spokesperson Erick Chanda has applied to rejoin the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) after resigning from the opposition party two weeks ago.

Chanda who has been conspicuously silent in the NDC until now, says he has decided to rejoin the PF because this is the only party that he served diligently with all his commitment and financial resources.

Chanda in a letter dated March 1, 2019 addressed to PF general secretary Davies Mwila and obtained by newsdayzambia.com said he had reconsidered his decision to leave the party and decided to be a member once again.

“I have decided to re-unite with my political family, the Patriotic Front, a party that I spent my political life with for over ten years. Aware and conscious of the Patriotic Front constitution , I do hereby submit this application for re-admission as a member of the Patriotic front for your consideration” Chanda stated.

Chanda resigned from the PF in 2012 after being left out on appointments. He also belonged to Alliance for Better Zambia, formerly led by Frank Bwalya before forming his own party, the  Fourth Revolution Party which entered an alliance with Miles Sampa’s United Democratic Front.

Chanda conspicausly left his party to become NDC spokesperson until two weeks ago when he resigned.

He contested the 2015 Presidential by-election under his party in which he emerged fourth.
