Charles Ngoma, a notorious Mongu based PF thug and leader of the infamous criminal gang “dark city boys” from Limulunga shanty compound has died after drowning in the Luanginga river.
Commonly known as ‘Chopper’ Ngoma was trying to escape from the angry Chimbinde boys beating in Kalabo.
Chopper together with other PF thugs from Mongu were hired by Kapundi Kashumba, a local business lady to go to Kalabo and kill a Witch- doctor by the name of Chimbinde who had accused Tungi Hardware proprietor of witchcraft.
As the cadres were heading for Kalabo on the hired mission, the Chimbinde camp was alert and got organized such that just upon arrival in Kalabo the Chimbinde boys ambushed them and gave them a good beating and had to scamper in all directions for their lives.
“Unfortunately Chopper drowned in the river as he was trying to escape from the Chimbinde boys” said Melba Hamaluba, a relative to the deceased.
Chopper was behind the attacks, traumatizing and torturing of innocent residents in a violent episode which engulfed Mongu in October 2018. He was reported to have knives, a pistol and some teargas grenades which he used in the attacks.
Earlier this month ‘Chopper’ together with his fellow notorious PF cadres harassed Mongu Municipal Council officers and started collecting Council revenues to their benefit.
