The three church mother bodies have rescheduled the date for the national dialogue and reconciliation meeting from January Friday 4, to January 18, 2019.

According to a communique issued by the three church mother bodies namely; the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), the date for the national dialogue and reconciliation process was changed so as to allow political parties to adequately prepare for the meeting.

The church mother bodies have since appealed to citizens, political leaders and their general membership to observe the set date and attend this important event.

Meanwhile, the three church mother bodies have described the December 28, 2018 national dialogue and reconciliation meeting held at Kapingila House in Lusaka as successful.

A total of 23 political parties attended the consultative national dialogue meeting where various national issues were tabled.

The church mother bodies explained that the Head of State failed to show up for the meeting as State House did not receive the confirmation of the meeting on time.

On Thursday last week, President Lungu’s Special Assistance for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda disclosed that State House had not received any formal invitation for the Head of State to attend last Friday’s consultative meeting called by the church mother bodies.
