Socialist Party General Secretary Dr Cosmas Musumali has described the late Derrick Chanda a hardworking militant committed to the revolutionary struggle waged by the opposition party.

Speaking during the funeral service at Christian Mission in Many Lands Church in Lusaka yesterday, Dr Musumali said Chanda had a conviction Zambia could be a better place for all, a legacy which should never be lost.

“He stood for what is called humanity, believed that a better world is possible and that the world today is not worthy of dignity as too many people are suffering and living in poverty,” Dr Musumali said.

Dr Musumali added that Chanda was not only committed to taking action, but organising and ensuring that the world was world was transformed.

“He was a revolutionary and that idea cannot be killed, death cannot take away that aspiration and that is what comrade Chanda is living behind for us and that is going to continue,” he said.

Dr Musumali said Chanda was a true believer of positive change for humanity.
