Kalumbila district receives fertilizer bags

Kalumbila district has received 29, 150 bags of fertilizer allocated for the 2018/2019 farming season.
Speaking during the flagging off of the distribution of farming inputs, district commissioner Robinson Kalota said the district had received 16, 598 by 50kg bags of D- Compound and 12, 552 by 50kg bags of urea allocated for the district.
Kalota said 4, 184 maize packs allocated to the district would cater for all the beneficiaries under the farmer input support programme.
He further said the government would give each farmer either 5 bags, 7 or 8 bags by 50 kgs during this farming season.
Meanwhile, Nyimba Investments regional commander Gideon Tembo said they had delivered all fertilizers and seeds allocated to Kalumbila.
Tembo said the government had also contracted local transporters to deliver the inputs to cooperatives.
