Inspector General of police Kakoma Kanganja has called on police oficers deployed in Mangango Constituency in Kaoma District to ensure that law and order prevail in the area before, during and after elections.
Addressing officers in Mangango on Wednesday, Kanganja said all lawlessness should be dealt with in accordance with provisions of the law.
“I’m warning officers against participating in active politics as their responsibility was to protect all members of the public irrespective of their political affiliation,’’ said Kanganja. ‘’However, I thank all political parties taking part in the by- election and members of the public for conducting themselves peacefully during the ongoing campaigns.”
And Kaoma district commissioner Kennedy Mubanga said Mangango had never had serious election related incidents recorded so far.
