The Parent Teachers Associations at Molozi and Chamasongwe primary schools respectively in Chipangali constituency has commended socialist party member Kennan Phiri for donating buckets of paint to the two schools.
Speaking during the handover, Molozi Primary School chairperson Charles Tonga said the paint would go a long way in beautifying and keeping the classroom blocks clean.
Tonga said many people had promised to work on the classroom blocks but nothing had happened.
“We face so many challengers at this school and many people have been promising us that they will work on one or two things at this school and yet nothing has happened,’’ he said. ‘’When we had the general elections and the previous by election we have been promised a lot of thing, but all those promising no one came to our aid. We want to thank you that you have managed to come and fulfill your promise,” said Tonga
And Chamasongwe works chairperson Esau Mwale said the school has been in a deplorable state.
“We need people like you who have a heart for development, we don’t want people who just talk and fail to work. We have been promised a lot of things from different people and nothing is happening, we have been waiting for years now,” said Mwale.
Meanwhile, Phiri said the party wanted to see
more people educated in the country.
“I will continue supporting the people of Chipangali district. It really pains me to see the classroom blocks our pupils are learning from. What saddened most is that the area member of parliament Vincent Mwale is the minister but he is failing to address some of the challenges schools are facing,” said Phiri.
