Choma District HIV/AIDS Coordinating Advisor (DACA) says it is everyone‘s responsibility to take part in commemorating this year’s HIV Testing Counseling and Treatment day.
Janet Mbezya said everyone must know their HIV status as it was a gateway to living a healthy life and also move towards achieving the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
And Southern Province AIDS Coordinating Advisor Rosemary Masaku said the country had reached the 90 90 90 target to end AIDS by 2030.
Masaku said the target has now been set to 95 95 95.
“This means that 95% of people living with HIV should know their status, 95% of people that are HIV positive put on treatment and 95% on ART should have their viral load suppressed,” said Masaku
She said ending AIDS by 2030 is achievable only if people join hands in fighting the epidemic.
