FREELANCE photojournalist Jean Nepomuscene Ndayisenga has dragged renowned Congolese Rhumba ‘King’ Koffi Olomide to court for assault.
Ndayisenga, popularly known as Mandela wants Koffi, whose real name is Antoine Christopher Agbepa Mumba, to answer a complaint of assault contrary to section 248 of the penal code cap 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Koffi is scheduled to appear in court on July 27, 2018 before magistrate M. N. Sakala.
Koffi was last week cleared by Zambia police service that said he was free to perform in Zambia as there was no case against him in Zambia and on the INTERPOL database.
Koffi is alleged to have kicked Ndayisenga in the face as he tried to take photographs of the musician after a live performance at Pamodzi hotel in 2012.
Ndayisenga reported Koffi for assault at Kabwata police station but the case was been transferred to Lusaka Central police.
Following his coming, Police said Koffi had no case to answer due to insufficient evidence in the matter.
This prompted Ndayisenga to write the Director of Public Prosecution to request for a private prosecution.
On January 12, Ndayisenga was given consent to prosecute privately and has since managed to serve Koffi with summons while in Matero at the home for the aged
