Chelsea sack manager

Chelsea Football Club failed to thank manager Antonio Conte for winning two trophies in two years as they confirmed his sacking.

SunSport revealed yesterday how the Italian boss was told at a meeting he would be axed after a mediocre 2017-18 season beset by dressing room unrest.

Conte has been sacked by the English premier league side after just two years as boss

In a brief 52-word statement, Chelsea announced: “During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup.

In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.

We wish Antonio every success in his future career.”

The Blues thanked past bosses Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Andres Villas-Boas for their efforts but gave Conte the cold shoulder.
