A socialist party youth member in Kapiri Mposhi in Central Province has expressed sadness with the ruling government on how it has abandoned youths in the country.
Cloudias Musoma, in a statement to newsdayzambia.com says if the expressed concern that if the problem of unemployment was not tackled decisively in Zambia, it would lead to serious social problems.
“Every year, thousands of youths are graduating from tertiary institutions across the country, yet they can’t find employment or source of empowering themselves. It is frustrating that upon graduating one discovers that their skills can’t earn them a job,” lamented Musoma.
He said some of the youths on the streets begging to wash cars were skilled artisans.
“Government should not play hide and seek over this issue, it is a ticking time bomb. The Chinese nationals who come here just to make blocks, poultry, gardening, carpentry, merchandizing, are just taking up the entrepreneurial space for our youth,” he said.
Musoma added that even car washing will eventually go to the Chinese if not handled properly.
“We buteko lolesha luse paliifwe misepela. A nation that does not care for its youths has no future, and that’s what as Zambia we are doing. The clarion call from the youth for help, is genuine, noble and legitimate. You need to respond positively to the call.#Alute_Continuea for the #Struggle_Is_Real and us unite as youths to build a Nation we need for our unborn children,” he said
