Southern Ps threaten to suspend gypsum mine operation

SOUTHERN Province Minister Dr. Edify Hamukale has threatens to suspend operations at Gypsum Mine in Monze’s Lochniver National Park if management fails to adhere to labour laws.

Hamukale said this will be effected if management at the mine does not adhere to the Zambian labour laws by 30th June, 2018.

“Workers are working without protective clothing, no contracts and lacked toilets and many others at the mine,” said Hamukale

“Workers’ representative are complaining that the working conditions at the mine were claiming that even salaries are not settled,” he said

Hamukale also said that management had not even provided proper transportation of workers as they use a tipper truck.
