RTSA engages number plate manufacturers

The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) on Monday held a meeting with the local number plate manufacturers, the Reflective Number Plate Association of Zambia (RENPAZ).

RTSA head of public relations Fredrick Mubanga said the meeting was held in the spirit of ensuring that local number plate manufactures were not pushed out of business once the institution migrated to the electronic number plates.

“The meeting discussed cross-cutting issues and the two institutions agreed to work on modalities to ensure that the migration to electronic number plate is implemented without any loss of business on the part of the local number plate manufacturers,” said Mubanga.

“Recently, RTSA and the Intelligent Mobility Solutions signed a concession agreement to implement the road safety management system which will, among other things, see the migration of motor vehicle number plates to electronic and technology-based.”
