BRE to support 7NDP

The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has pledged to support the implementation of the Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP) and provide land for developmental projects in Western Province.
Induna Namunda and induna Kalonga said this when Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme and African Development Bank (AfDB) Executive Director Patrick Zampita paid a courtesy call on the Kuta in Limulunga during their on-the-spot check of developmental projects, including AfDB-financed Cashew Infrastructure Development Project and the Rural Water and Sanitation Project.
The BRE said it was committed to work with the Government in implementing developmental programmes in the province.
“The 7th National Development Plan is very important to the development of the country. When you go please send us these documents and if possible send us a team of experts to come and brief the Kuta so that we provide land for development when you request for it. We want to support the implementation of the 7NDP,” said induna Kalonga.
“BRE will support every development that requires land. As BRE, we are not stingy with land as people perceive us that it is very difficult to get land in Western Province. That is a misconception. Any development that comes, and you ask us for land, we shall provide.”
They said it had seen many developmental projects in Western Province, including construction of roads and the Canal that is used for the Kuomboka Traditional ceremony, among others, since the Patriotic Front party came to power.
