Release CDF early, demands Nkeyema MP

Nkeyema member of parliament Kapelwa Mbangweta says the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) should be given to the Constituencies in full at the beginning of Fin each financial year.
Mbangweta said it was against procedure that lawmakers should be following up CDF individually.
He stated it was unacceptable for the government to fail to give CDF that had been approved by Parliament.
“Nkeyema, like the majority of the other constituencies, has only received half of the CDF allocation, which is unacceptable. With respect to the e-voucher system, it had been a disaster during the 2017/2018 farming season,” he said.
“Inputs were also delayed and distributed in February/March which was too late for this farming season. And on a preliminary basis the programme has covered 700, 000 out of the intended 1, 000, 000; meaning that 300, 000 farmers had been left out. Therefore if the average Zambian Household has six people it means that the programme had left potentially in he region of 1, 800, 000 out of the loop which is quite serious for a population of about sixteen million.”
