The Zambia national Farmers Union (ZNFU) has reiterated its call for constant engagement between the government and its membership.
Welcoming new agriculture minister michael Katambo who took over from Dora Siliya after President Edgar Lungu shuffled cabinet on Wednesday, ZNFU president Jevis Zimba called for policy consistency.
“The Union wishes to reiterate that for the agricultural sector to post positive growth, there is need to religiously actualise policy and maintain high levels of consultation with agricultural stakeholders,” said Zimba in a statement on Thursday.
“The ZNFU stands ready to continue being a positive consultative partner with government as we work towards making agriculture the mainstay of the economy and offer to work closely with both Honourable Katambo and Honourable Mulenga.”
