Chanda defends Lungu’s admission to stealing 2016 vote

PF media director Sunday Chanda has defended President Edgar Lungu’s admission that he was voted out in 2015 and 2016 but did not leave office.
Addressing the community in Chibombo recently, President Lungu bragged that even if people voted PF out he and his colleagues would not leave government.
And based on President Lungu’s statement, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema accused President Lungu of confessing to rigging.
But Chanda said it was no surprise that UPND support base had continued to vote against the PF even if the opposition party could not from government.
“It’s public knowledge that even when the UPND strongholds have continued to vote against the Patriotic Front, government has not denied them of the much-needed development. We are also aware that some opposition MPs and opposition-controlled councils have tried to frustrate government efforts in their respective areas. Despite all this, Patriotic Front remains focused on delivering on its campaign promises to all parts of Zambia without leaving anyone behind,” said Chanda
“Zambians must be worried that Mr Hichilema has become so consistent with telling lies and we wonder if he wants that to be his trademark for 2018 so that we can properly label him a liar. In 2018 alone, he lied to the Zambian people that NRDC had been sold by government – we challenge him to name the buyer and state the cost. In 2018 alone, he lied to the Zambian people that Chimbokaila Prison had been sold by government – we challenge him to name the buyer and state the cost. In 2018 alone, he lied to the Zambian people that National Parks had been sold by government – we challenge him to name the buyer and state the cost. In 2018 alone, he lied to Zambians about the changing weather patterns what he would do if he was in government, unless he’s a rainmaker! And today, he has lied about President Lungu confessing to stealing the 2016 election victory.”
