NDC youths demand for Prof Luo’s resignation on moral grounds

National Democratic Congress (NDC) youths have challenged higher education Minister Nkandu Lou to resign on moral grounds due to brutality against students at the Copperbelt University (CBU).
Addressing party youth officials today at Mumana Pleasure Resorts at a consultative meeting, NDC youth chairperson Charles Kabwita said Zambians have been betrayed by President Edgar Lungu and his Patriotic Front government.
He said the PF have exhibited strange characteristics devoid of humanity towards the poor people who voted for them.
“These people we have put in government are heartless. That’s why they are stealing in the manner they are doing. That is why social commentator and musician Pilato has likened the PF leadership to a rat. That song should call for serious reflection on the part of the PF leadership,” said Kabwita.
He said the PF was going nowhere under President Lungu as its exit was now clear.
“The PF is going nowhere and its you to help this party to form government. NDC will focus on rebuilding the country’s downtrodden economy. The PF has destroyed our economy,” said Kabwita.
And Kabwita said Professor Luo should resign from her ministerial position because she had failed universities.
He said the brutality against students at CBU was instigated by Prof. Luo’s insensitivity and failure to exhibit willingness to dialogue.
Prof Luo last week announced the withdrawal of meal and book allowances for students at universities, which sparked protests from the students.
