UNITED Progressive Party leader Saviour Chishimba’s 16-year-old daughter has gone missing in bizarre circumstances whilst attending lessons at her school.
According to an interim statement issued by Chishimba on his missing school-going daughter posted on social media over six hours ago, the opposition leader stated that it would be premature at this stage to suspect abduction.
“Comrades in the new struggle for justice; it is with absolute trust and confidence in the LORD our God who is my Tower of Safety and Saviour of all my children that I have to announce publicly that my sixteen year old daughter, Mutale, has gone missing,” Chishimba said. “We shall not take this matter to be political until we get a conclusive report as we keep the faith that she would return home safely.”
He said Mutale was last seen at her school around 14:00 hours yesterday, around which time she called her mother to advice on the time she should be picked.
“Taking cognisance of the fact that I am away, her mother went to the police who advised to wait until after 24 hours,” said Chishimba, an ardent critic of President Edgar Lungu’s governance style. “Join me and the family in praying for her safety.”
